We have had children as young as 4 years old take our surf lessons. Normally, children from age 4 to 7 prefer to ride with the instructor.
It is always best for any child to know how to swim well and feel comfortable and confident in the ocean before they take a surf lesson. If they don’t swim well, they often get scared and it makes their experience not a fun one. It’s always best to wait until they are ready.
-
Yes. Your younger child will have to do a private lesson, and the rest of you can do a group or private group lesson. We will keep you together so you can experience surfing as a family.

Waikiki is a magical place. There is always something to ride, although there are days when the waves may be too big and not safe. If this happens, you can cancel for a refund or reschedule.

Your surfboard will have a leash connected to it that will be tied to your ankle, which will give you lots of support, but you still will want to know how to swim.

There is a lot going on during your lesson, so it may not be the best choice to bring a camera. It’s best to come and just enjoy the lesson rather than worry about taking photos. You can purchase photos of your lesson for an additional fee.
